Would that fit in with the Forum?

I have a hard time imagining a Best Buy and parking deck that wouldn't detract from the Forum's quaint little village look and feel. --Richard 16:57, 6 Jul 2006 (EDT)

That was my first thought, too. Plus imagine the traffic around the holidays. --Qexter 08:48, 7 Jul 2006 (EDT)

Please No Best Buy!

1. Best Buy can't compete with Brandsmart USA' offering and pricing. 2. 141 is busy enough - We don't need any more traffic anytime. 3. If Best Buy comes, then who knows what else will be here next. No Best Buy Please

Not Best Buy!!

This is a bad idea. I don't believe it fits in the with rest of the store and the general atmosphere of the Forum. Plus, it will contribute to traffic congestion in and around the shopping center. I also wonder if the area would have enough traffic to support a store of that size. I would hate to see a huge, empty store creating an eyesore (like so many old Wal*Mart locations). Even if they build it, we won't shop there. We hate Best Buy so much that we will go out of our way to shop elsewhere.

Have To Agree

No Best Buy! Would completely ruin the asthetics of the Forum and would not fit in at all. Plus Best Buy has really gone down the tubes over the last few years. Overpriced, bad customer service, just blah! --Chuck 20:32, 20 Jul 2006 (EDT)

Excellent News

I think a Best Buy would be great for the PC area. The area is definataly lacking a market for computer/electronics stuff despite being right across the street from Technology Park. Having Best Buy as an anchor store would help bring in business to those specialty butique stores that are bearly surviving in the Forum. I am personally not a fan of Best Buy, but I hate driving 15-20 minutes to Gwinnett Place for some kind of tech thing I really need right then. I also dislike going to OfficeMax to find that they don't carry a particular product or only have a second rate rip-off version of what I wanted.

NO! Best Buy

I believe a more upscale home theater store would be a better fit. I think the quaint feel of the Forum would be lost with the addition of such a large store. It is such a nice place now, I think most people would be disappointed in this a change. Traffic is also a concern.

Excellent News NOT

If one is looking for a place for computer and electronic, may I suggest Brandsmart USA down by 285 and HWY 141? It is no more than 7 miles away and the prices are a lot better than Best Buy or HiFi Buy.

Anyone wants to get some "No Best Buy" Signs and put them in our yards? ;-)

Across From the Forum and Best Buy

Does anybody know what is going to be developed across the street (B.P property) from the Forum? Seems like they are marking it off for something. Any Guesses? Great website btw, thanks!--User:Twwsw

Good Question, I haven't heard any recent news on that land. Anybody else know? I'll look into it. BTW, welcome to OPC, Twwsw, let us know about yourself by filling in your user page. (User:Twwsw) --Allen 09:48, 2 Oct 2006 (EDT)
Hiya Twwsw and welcome! I noticed a while back that the Gwinnett county greenspace plan (http://www.co.gwinnett.ga.us/departments/parks_rec/master_plan/potentialproperties.pdf) mentions aquiring and using "53 acres @ Bush Rd and Medlock Bridge Road on Peachtree Parkway." I wonder if this is the section of land you refered to? Hard to know without more research. --Richard 17:30, 3 Oct 2006 (EDT)

Interesting and thank you for the information and welcome! Do you think this property would be better suited for a high rise office park or a high rise residential condo? just speculating... --User:Twwsw

I think either could be nice if it is high quality, but I would lean toward office space. I think having more good jobs in the area will do more for property values than condos will. --Richard 14:43, 5 Oct 2006 (EDT)

We Like Best Buy, But

We really like Best Buy in general, but I agree that it is a bad fit with Forum.

If there is development planned across from Forum (old BP area), perhaps much better fit there, if they have to come to this area at all...

But seriously, there are no electronics stores around... Maybe Fry's would be better?

I'm Guessing Best Buy is NOT coming...

Since California Pizza Kitchen and that other restaurant (whose name escapes me at the moment) are currently under construction where the Best Buy would have been, I'm guessing that Best Buy is not coming after all.
